Project Outline

TPC Sawgrass Golf Course:

As part of the historic restoration of TPC Sawgrass, Environmental Design Inc. (EDI) was entrusted with the relocation of a massive 500,000-pound oak tree to preserve the legacy of the course. Originally planted by legendary golf course designer Pete Dye, the tree played a significant role in the visual intimidation and strategic challenge of the course. Using their state-of-the-art ArborLift® technology, EDI carefully excavated, transported, and replanted the tree with precision, ensuring it would continue to shape the playing experience for future generations. The project stands as a testament to EDI’s expertise in tree preservation and their commitment to honoring the heritage of world-class golf courses.

Location

TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

Client Testimonial:

Davis Love III – “It’s an honor to work with Environmental Design. They’ve done so much great work on so many historic golf courses—I’ve grown up watching them move trees around at famous places. They were the only choice for us for moving this big tree.”
